King’s College Hospital
Bringing augmented reality into a clinical environment for the first time, and turning waiting-room time into a moment worth keeping.
King’s College Hospital · Dubai Hills
Bring mixed reality into a hospital.
King’s College Hospital Dubai Hills is one of the region’s leading healthcare institutions. They wanted to do something no hospital in the region had done: bring augmented reality into a clinical environment, and use it to change how patients, visitors and staff experience the space.
Waiting areas and public spaces in healthcare are full of idle time. King’s saw a chance to turn that dead time into something warmer and genuinely memorable, without ever disrupting the calm of a clinical setting.
A live hospital. Every element had to feel calm, considered and appropriate for patients, families and clinicians.
Bring interactive AR into a space defined by quiet and care, and make it feel like it belongs there.
A permanent, always-on installation. Not a one-off activation, but something that keeps working every single day.
A permanent FRXME, built for care.
We deployed a custom FRXME interactive display inside King’s College Hospital Dubai Hills, tuned for a clinical environment. Branded, interactive AR content that engages patients, visitors and staff, and turns a few minutes in a waiting area into a moment worth keeping. And every experience works twice: it entertains, and it introduces the care King’s provides. An AR heart placed in a visitor’s hands carries a gentle prompt about looking after their cardiovascular health, pointing them to the hospital’s cardiology team and a check-up they can book on the spot.
Calm by design. Interactive by nature. Working for the hospital every day.
See it in action.
The numbers speak.
Patients, visitors and staff engaged with the display throughout the day.
An 80% completion rate: most people who started the experience finished it.
A permanent, always-on installation that keeps working long after a typical activation would have ended.
Every experience doubles as care discovery: play becomes awareness of the hospital’s clinical services, one gentle nudge from a booked appointment.
A hospital isn’t where you expect to find augmented reality, and that is exactly why it works. FRXME brought a moment of warmth and play into a clinical setting, turning idle waiting time into something people remember. And it earns its place commercially: the same experiences that make people smile introduce them to the care King’s provides, from an AR heart to a bookable cardiology check-up.
